I recently wrote about the benefits of working with an energy healer. How do you find the perfect one for you?

Do a Google search for "healers near me" and you will find a bevvy of practitioners. Add in the fact that most are offering remote sessions and your options are endless. Where do you even start?

I am going to break it down for you!

If you want to work with someone who is certified in Reiki, a practitioner who has achieved level 2 attunement has been trained to work with others. That being said, not all healers are Reiki trained so you can decide for yourself if that is important to you.

After you've identified a healer or two that sound interesting, now is the time to do your research. Don't just read client testimonials! Check out their social media accounts so you can get a feel not just for their sessions, but also their personality. Some healers talk to the spirit world. Some are down to earth. Some crack jokes. Some dress in designer clothes. You are probably going to feel the most comfortable with someone who is like you. If you feel intimidated, you won't relax during your sessions..

Another thing to take note of is if the healer taps into other modalities during their sessions. Crystals, meditation, intuitive readings, mantras, and sound baths can all be incorporated. If you have a connection to any of them, you might want to work with someone who uses it too.

Remote sessions can vary from one practitioner to another. Some schedule an initial phone call with you, set a time for the healing, provide you with instruction, and then follow up afterwards. Others, myself included, do their healings with clients on the call. Again, it is a matter of preference!

After you found a healer, I recommend you reach out to them and let them know you'd like to work with them. Ask any questions you may have. Express concerns. If you are feeling positive after the connection, now is the time to book that session.
