The Power of Connection on a Spiritual Journey

Spiritual practices often focus so much on our inner work, personal growth, and the healing of others that we might overlook one crucial element: building connections. As a Reiki Master, I've found that the value of networking isn't always apparent to people with practices like mine. But let me tell you, it can make all the difference. Not only in our personal growth but in the way we run our businesses and expand our reach.

Over the years, I’ve joined a number of networking groups. While I’ve had the pleasure of meeting incredible entrepreneurs from all walks of life, I rarely cross paths with other healers or people in similar professions. It’s a bit surprising, really, because there’s so much value in connecting with others, no matter their background.

I think sometimes we might not see the benefit of networking outside of our usual circles. Maybe it feels too "business-y," or perhaps we believe that our work will naturally flow to us through cosmic alignment (which, to some extent, it does!). But there’s a real opportunity being missed. Networking is more than handing out business cards or getting referrals—it’s about learning, growing, and finding support in places you might not expect.

For example, I’ve found an amazing community in the Montclair, NJ, chapter of the Horseneck Network. I’ve learned so much from these connections — from the ins and outs of running a business (trust me, mystical businesses need structure, too!) to gaining insight into marketing, client relationships, and even balancing work and life, I’ve found unexpected allies and mentors. And who knows? Maybe some of them have found a little inspiration in what I do too.

This experience has shown me that whether you're a Reiki healer, an intuitive, or someone offering other holistic services, you can greatly benefit from stepping into broader circles. These connections can help us see our work in new ways, reach more people, and gain valuable insights into how to share our gifts more effectively. It’s not about leaving behind the enlightened side of what we do; it’s about integrating it with the practical tools that allow us to serve even better.

So if you're on a similar journey and haven’t considered the value of networking, I encourage you to give it a try. Step into a room full of business owners and see what unfolds. You might just find that the wisdom you share and receive opens up a whole new dimension to your practice.

I'd love to hear from others who’ve experienced this kind of growth from unexpected connections. Let’s start a conversation about building a supportive, well-rounded community, both in and outside of our world! 😊
