Letting People Into Your Energy
My friend and teacher Esther Rivera posted a video on Instagram that I can’t stop thinking about. She cautioned people to be careful about who they let into their spiritual field.
You’ve probably heard the stories about people being scammed by online psychics. Still, you might have a hard time believing that a healer could harm you. The truth is, when you open up your energy field during a healing session, you’re allowing the practitioner’s energy to merge with yours. Since that energy reflects who they are as a person, it’s crucial that they align with your values and beliefs.
I know it sounds overwhelming, especially if you are at the stage of your journey where you want to work with a healer. To point you in the right direction, here are some tips to help you find out if they will have your best interests at heart.
Check them out. What do they post online? Do they come across as a warm, authentic, sincere? Did they scare you a little? Trust your intuition if it’s telling something isn’t right for you.
Read the testimonials. Online kudos are a good way to get a feel for someone’s methods. You can also look into getting referrals from people you trust. Most of us in the spiritual world have allies we’d love to recommend. Let me know if I can help!
Try out the free offerings first. Many energy healers offer consultations and some even have freebies. Most do Instagram Lives or have YouTube channels. This is a good way to find out if you are a good fit.
Be vulnerable but keep your eyes open. I’ve heard from clients that healers have tried to pressure them into spending more money by playing on their fears.
Beloved, if anyone tells you the person of your dreams will show up at your door if only you pay them X amount of dollars, they are running a con. The purpose of healing is to guide you towards your personal power. It’s not to put a spell on someone else.
Tread carefully if someone randomly reaches out because they received a message from the spirits. Most likely they’ve targeted you as a spiritual seeker from your social media.
